We installed the StormVault Retention System on a 12-hectare commercial development in Mississauga. The first month showed consistent drawdown within 18 hours after a 25mm rain event, and the oil-grit separator captured visible sediment during the initial flush. The pre-cast sections aligned well on site, and the HDPE liner installation went ahead without delays. The only issue was a minor misalignment on one vault joint, which the field team corrected within an hour. Overall, the system met the 50-year storm requirement and passed the municipal inspection on the first pass.

The communication during the BioSwale Edge Filter Strips project was clear, but the initial delivery timeline slipped by two weeks due to a material shortage at the precast yard. Once the units arrived, the installation crew appreciated the modular design — each 3m segment was labeled with the soil media composition, which simplified placement along the roadside. The perforated underdrain connection required a field adjustment because the geotextile separator was folded incorrectly on two segments. After that fix, the system performed as specified during the first storm event, with no visible ponding or erosion at the outlet.

This was our second project with RavenousCreatures — the first was a HydroGuard Catch Basin Insert retrofit on a 5-year-old subdivision. For this follow-up, we specified the same inserts for a new industrial park. The drop-in cartridges fit the existing 600mm x 600mm inlets without any frame modifications, and the quarterly maintenance schedule is manageable for our public works crew. The sight tube makes visual inspection straightforward, and the hydrophobic media has not required replacement after two seasons. The only change we requested was a stiffer bypass weir spring, which they provided at no extra cost.
